Developing talent is what going places  is all about.

Usually we're developing talent for the tourism & travel industry but the nature of work today means that much of what we teach is transferable skills and knowledge that is valuable in any business career.

Tourism is fast becoming New Zealand's number one industry, and travel is one of the world's biggest industries.

The courses offered by going places can prepare your son or daughter to participate in those industries.

These days, young people have a huge variety of training courses and career options to choose from.

At going places we know that many young people when they leave school don't really know what they want to do. That's why we've designed our tourism & travel courses with that problem in mind.

First of all, we can offer a choice of courses including certificate courses which concentrate on the practical skills needed to work in the travel and tourism industry and diploma courses which have a more academic approach and more business content.

The certificate courses are designed so that people don't have to choose up front which part of the industry they are most interested in. Instead we give them a general grounding first and then they can choose whether to specialise in travel or in tourism.

Our business diplomas offer a grounding in business skills and offer a possible alternative to university study for some.

Looking after young people as they make the transition from school to the world of work is one of our big concerns. That's why we concentrate on small class sizes and plenty of time for individual attention for students outside class times.

We also know that fees are a big issue which is why are fees are lower than any comparable course in Christchurch. Student loans and allowances are available.
